Through Croatia
Pansion Zagi near the border to Slovenia. I nice quiet hotel with good service and a pleasant restaurant. Only a couple of km from the motor way in the smal town Oroslavje.
Hotel Garni Airport hotel in Zagreb The hotel is very close to the airport and convenient if you have an early flight. The standard is good and prices are reasonable.

Pansion Winnetou at Plitvize - highly recommended - Good value for money, friendly staff. Good local kitchen. The hotel is located very conveniently for excursions to the national park and only a few kilometers from the main entrance to the lakes.
Near Sibenik: Hotel Panorama. You reach it from exit 21 on the motorway. If you stay there I recommend that you make a visit to Krka National Park. Drive to the Skradin entrance and spend a couple of hours there. Entrance fee is about 9 Euros per adult (2009) and includes a shuttle bus to the waterfalls.
Dubrovnik
Hotel Argentina - 2 minutes walk from the Ploce Gate.

Hotel Lapad. - Less expensive than hotels near the old town. The buses run every 20 minutes, and they stop at around midnight. The hotel is standard. The bus from Lapad hotel to the old town takes about 15 minutes.
